2019 Alumni Homecoming: The Servant's Invincible Heritage

Register Online View Alumni Schedule

This year ABC celebrates its 70th year of training servants...servants like you. What year does this mark for you since you visited your alma mater? Whether you graduated 50 years ago or 2 years ago, we hope you will take time to pause and reflect on God's faithfulness with us at this year's Alumni Homecoming. Reconnect with people, places, and memories amid the beautiful colors of the Appalachian autumn as we celebrate "The Servant's Invincible Heritage."

A special feature of this year’s Homecoming will be the Alumni/Student Choir! Whether you were in one of ABC’s singing groups as a student or just want to join your voice with other alumni and current students, we encourage you to come and be a part of this special group. Not a singer? Come and enjoy listening to the Alumni/Student Choir at the Celebration Banquet on Friday night. Other events during the weekend include a special Alumni Connections time, Chapel, Blue/Grey soccer and volleyball games, Celebration Banquet, and more. Activities are planned for all ages, so bring your children and teens.

As you continue practicing "...Because Life is for Service," take some time to refresh and remember that "Service is for Life" at this year’s Alumni Homecoming.

Speaker: Pastor Bobby McCoy

Pastor Bobby McCoy
Your circumstances are an opportunity to draw you closer to Him… What seemed to be a tragedy has been part of the equipping process so that I can better serve God.
Bobby was raised in Oak Ridge, Tennessee. At the age of 5, he trusted Christ as his Savior while attending Children’s Church at Oak Ridge Baptist Church. After attending seminary where he earned a Master of Arts in Pastoral Studies degree and a Master of Divinity degree, Bobby joined the staff of Oak Ridge Baptist Church in 2004 and became the senior pastor in 2015. He leads the church with a heart for discipleship and reaching the community with the Gospel.

His ministry has also been shaped by God’s grace and providence in a personal tragedy. In 1999, at the age of 22, Bobby’s life was changed forever when he was involved in a car accident and became a quadriplegic. He now uses this trial to praise God and point others to Him amid the hard circumstances of life. You can read more about Bobby's story here.

We know our alumni will be blessed to hear Bobby as he encourages us from the Word on our theme “The Servant’s Invincible Heritage” at this year’s Homecoming.
